Everybody Loves Raymond, which completed a hugely successful network run on the CBS Television Network in May 2005, returns for its sixth season in off-net syndication in Fall 2006. A huge hit in prime time, the series has also been a ratings winner in syndication consistently ranking in the Top Five of all syndicated programming. The series won “Outstanding Comedy Series,” “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series” for Doris Roberts and “Outstanding supporting Actor in a Comedy Series” for Brad Garrett at the 2005 Emmy Awards.
Everybody Loves Raymond is set apart by its smart, adult, family comedy, combining real-life situations; strong, well-defined characters; distinctive performances by expert comic actors and crisp, clever writing. The series follows the relationships between three close-knit generations who happen to live a little too close for comfort.
The centerpiece is sportswriter Ray Barone (Ray Romano), who lives on Long Island, NY, with his loving but no-nonsense wife, Debra (Patricia Heaton), and their three kids (Madylin Sweeten, Sawyer Sweeten, Sullivan Sweeten). Living just across the street, embracing the motto, “Su casa es mi casa,” are Ray’s meddling parents, Marie (Doris Roberts) and Frank (Peter Boyle). And, constantly moving in and out of his parents’ house is Ray’s older brother, Robert (Brad Garrett), a policeman who resents Ray’s successful career and happy family life. When it comes to life with the Barones, the conversation gets as hot – and as rich – as the food.
One of the most-loved comedies on television, Everybody Loves Raymond has been named “TV’s most consistently funny comedy” (USA Today) and called “a rare and winning combination of wit, sweetness and eccentricity” (People Magazine). During its network run, the series received numerous other accolades, including multiple Emmy Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards and People’s Choice and Golden Globe nominations.
Phil Rosenthal, Ray Romano, Stu Smiley, Rory Rosegarten, Lew Schneider, Tucker Cawley, Steve Skrovan and Jeremy Stevens are Executive Producers. Phil Rosenthal is the Creator. The series was produced by Worldwide Pants, Inc. and HBO Independent Productions. Everybody Loves Raymond is distributed domestically in syndication by King World Productions, Inc., and internationally by CBS Paramount International Television (CPIT).
